Boy- Getting dressed for the big school

Uniforms are very important for British Public schools. This is because it conveys a sense of discipline and reputation. In the book boy, Roald Dhal describes the type of uniform they used to wear. His uniform included a butterfly collar, braces, waistcoats, and tailcoats.

Why does Christchurch value school uniforms?

Uniforms play a key role in promoting pride, self-confidence, and a feeling of belonging within the student body.

I think uniforms are important as it shows the reputation of the school. It also makes everyone feel equal no one seems too rich or too poor.

The Best Pizza

Joe Beddia tells us how to make the best pizza step by step.

Step one-  The Dough
He makes his pizza dough from scratch. He uses organic bread flour, water, sea salt, fresh cake yeast, sugar and extra virgin olive oil. Let the dough come at room temperature and flour anything that touches the dough. For example your hands and the counter.

Step two- Cheese
He uses two types of mozzarella cheese. He dots the stretched dough with half thumb sized mozzarella pieces then tops the rest with low moisture shredded mozzarella. It's all about the coverage for him.

step three- When to top
Some toppings are best cooked from the start and some are best topped after cooking.
Things to cook with the pizza- thinly sliced asparagus, boiled (crumbled) potatoes, sauteed mushrooms, or fresh baby spinach.
things to top after cooking- chopped chives, paper-thin slices of cured meat, fresh basil leaves, or anchor fillets.

Step four- Sauce
The trick for his red sauce is good tomatoes and sauce. To make white sauce he uses heavy cream add stuff like herbs to it and whip it in the food processor until it's pretty thick.

Step five- pizza stone
The dough requires a hot surface to cook on. Otherwise, it will dry out. The pizza won't be crispy or and delicious.

Step six- Treat it like pasta
Finish your pizza with aged cheese and olive oil.

Step seven- Meat
Use really thin cured meat. They melt a little bit

Step eight- Pickled Chiles
Add fresh pickled chiles to finished pies.

The Doctor's Visit

Today in Wanaga, we read another chapter of the book 'Boy'. In this chapter, he talks about how medical services were back in the day. They did not use any anaesthesia to numb the area before operation. Today, medical services are more advanced than they used to be.

Pasion Project

 Week 1:

In Wananga, we are doing passion projects. For this, we have to choose something to do which interests us. Then, we have to come up with a question that will help us to do it. Once we have answered the question, we have to do a little presentation as proof of our project. I will be making loom bands and selling them.

Week 2:

This week for passion projects, I have started making my loom bands. I found resources from teachers as shops don't sell loom bands anymore because they were a choking hazard. I have also started making posters to promote my Business. I will continue to make the loom bands over the holidays. I still need to sort out the prices for the loom bands.

Boy- Roald Dahl

Boy, an autobiographical book written by Roald Dhal, talks about his life in a boarding school. In the chapter we read, he talks about the Matron who was in charge of the dormitory floor. Everyone was scared of her as she could send you to the headmaster at any time to get caned. She didn't like little boys. Boy by Roald Dahl - Penguin Books New Zealand

Rules back then were very different to the rules today.
