Circuits

What is a circuit? a complete closed path which is made of little wires that help electrons flow.
Explain the difference between series and parallel circuits.
  • Series circuit- the circuit is one in which all the components are connected one after the other.
  • Parallel circuit- the components in the circuit are parallel to each other. The current has different paths to take around the circuit.

Show a parallel and series circuit with 2 batteries, 2 bulbs, and a switch.
  • parallel-
  • series-
What is voltage? the measurement of how much energy the current is carrying.
How does it differ in series and parallel?
  • series- the current is shared between the components

  • parallel- the current is the same in all locations.

What is current? the flow of electrons
How does it differ in series and parallel?
  • series- the current is the same in all locations.

  • parallel- the current is shared between the components.

To support my learning I ask you to comment as follows:
1. Something positive - something you like about what I have shared.
2. Thoughtful - A sentence to let us know you actually read/watched or listened to what I had to say
3. Something thoughtful - how have you connected with my learning? Give me some ideas for next time or ask me a question.
