Coraline SEXXXY Paragraph

Brainstorm:
Lights: Warm artificial light
Feels: happy, loved, welcoming,
Director: Shows that the other parents spend time with Coraline
Camera angle: High angle shot
colour: orange, artificial

In the high angle kitchen shot, we see that the other mother cares about Coraline and has everything ready for her. She has made a variety of food for Coraline as she slept without eating in the real world. This makes the audience think that the other world is better than the real world. The director did this to show us that Coraline is enjoying the other world. She yet does not know the aim of the other mother. When we first see the other mother we think she is kind, loving and safe to be with, but by the end, we see her as a demon who has trapped Coraline to eat her. Selick did this to show the theme looks can be deceiving.

Lights: Warm artificial light
Feels: happy, loved, welcoming,
Director: Shows that the other parents love Coraline
Camera angle: low angle shot
colour: warm, artificial

In this low angle shot, we see that the other parents love Coraline and has sent her to watch Mrs spink's and Mrs Forcible's show. They were waiting for Coraline outside the theatre. The other mother made the two ladies more enjoyable in this world. This makes the audience think that the other mother loves Coraline. The director did this to show us how much the other mother loves Coraline. When we first see her the other she seems caring, but as we go ahead with the movie, we found out that she was planning for something else. Selick did this to show the theme looks can be deceiving.

Brainstorm:
Lights: Warm artificial light
Feels: unhappy, unloved, unwelcoming,
Director: Shows that the other mother is changing gradually
Camera angle: a close-up shot
colour: warm, artificial

In this close up shot, we see the other mother as a tall, evil and challenging person. Coraline has made a deal with her which she accepted as a challenge. This made the audience think that the other mother is different from what we saw first. The director did this to show the gradual change in the other mother. When we first see the bond between Coraline and the other mother, it seemed to be really serious but by the end, the bond changes to a challenge of life and death. This shows the theme of looks can be deceiving by the gradual and subtle change in the other mother.
