Maths Reflection

Week 7-

In maths this week, we learned how to calculate the volume of 3d shapes. We also learned what should be considered a 3d shape. And we learned how to calculate the area and volume of a triangle. I think I have learned how to calculate an area and a volume of a triangle and 3d shapes.

I will update post every Friday for weekly reflection.

My Migration Story

I  was born and brought up in Fiji. Fiji is a multi-cultural country. It has a good government and a good education. I would not want to leave Fiji but I had to. I moved to New Zealand in 2017. I moved to New Zealand because of medical reasons. When we moved we came to Sokburn at my aunt’s place then we moved to Hornby to our house.

Migration

In social studies, we have been learning about migration. Some keywords we learnt are:
  • pull factors- things that pull you towards the new town, city or country.
  • push factors- things that push you out of the town city or country.
  • obstacles- things that come in between the push and pull factor which makes it harder to migrate.
  • emigration- to move out of the current country.
  • immigration- move into a new country.
  • migrant- a person who moves in or out of a country.
We had to show examples of these key concepts. We also had to make a model of push-pull factors with obstacles. Here are some examples I made.
